Job Description
The Pharmacist is responsible for continuing the pharmacy management's goals and objectives within the dispensing pharmacy. This role involves providing routine and emergency comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems. The Pharmacist must ensure that the appropriate drug products reach the customers efficiently and safely, requiring management skills and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy, focusing on workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to DEA policies and procedures as well as third-party payer contract rules.
- Supervise the pharmacy production staff to ensure proper order entry, workflow, security, and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders.
- Oversee the preparation and/or supervision of all sterile IV drug products or solutions.
- Assist in ordering, handling, receiving, documenting, and storing all controlled substances, maintaining a perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs.
- Provide coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of the on-call rotation and as required by management.
- Ensure the workflow dashboard is cleared daily.
- Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
- Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Current license to practice pharmacy in good standing.
- Proficient in clinical interpretation, including drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, and allergies.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Excellent interpersonal and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Accurate and efficient performance when dispensing prescription medications.
- Experience in retail, healthcare, retail pharmacy, pharmacy benefits management, fulfillment, inventory, and drug dispensing.
- Prior authorization and customer service experience.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
This position requires working Monday through Friday from 5:30 PM to 2 AM, rotating through every fourth weekend. The weekend shift is from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The role may require sitting or standing for seven to ten hours per day, occasional physical activities like climbing or balancing, and the ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds. Flexibility in hours may be necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr.
