Job Title: Warehouse Operations Specialist / Warehouse Lead
Job Description
This role leads the setup and day-to-day operations of a new, climate-controlled distribution hub that supports renewable energy projects. The Warehouse Operations Specialist will design and organize a 20,000 sq. ft. facility, manage inventory of solar components, power storage systems, and inverters, and operate as the primary on-site associate responsible for safe, accurate, and efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Set up and help design the warehouse layout, racking systems, and operational workflows for a 20,000 sq. ft. facility.
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming deliveries of renewable energy components, including solar equipment, power storage systems, and inverters.
- Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials within the facility.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP or similar inventory management systems and basic Microsoft Office tools.
- Ensure proper storage, organization, labeling, and tracking of all materials to support efficient retrieval and shipping.
- Handle material movement and lifting of items up to 50 lbs, using provided equipment when necessary to ensure safe handling.
- Work independently as the sole on-site associate, taking full ownership of daily warehouse operations.
- Implement best practices learned through hands-on training at an established hub and adapt them to the local facility.
- Monitor and maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment in accordance with company procedures.
- Collaborate remotely with logistics and corporate partners to support regional distribution needs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
- Prior warehouse operations experience, ideally in a startup, build-out, or new facility environment.
- Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently.
- Experience with SAP or similar inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a one-person operation.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs safely.
- Ability to follow established processes and implement best practices in warehouse operations.
- Comfort working with renewable energy components such as solar equipment, power storage systems, and inverters.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience participating in or leading warehouse setup, including layout design and racking configuration.
- Experience in warehouse management or inventory control in a distribution or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with climate-controlled warehouse operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving workflows and processes.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with off-site teams and logistics partners.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a facility and operate with a high level of responsibility and reliability.

Work Environment
This position is based in a climate-controlled, 20,000 square foot warehouse facility that serves as a regional distribution hub for renewable energy components. The standard schedule is a daytime shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will primarily work on-site as the sole associate in the facility, operating a sit-down forklift and using SAP and Microsoft Office tools to manage inventory and daily tasks. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and efficiency, with material handling equipment provided as needed to support lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pink Hill, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
