The Turret Operator sets up and operates CNC turret punch presses and related metal fabrication equipment to produce high-quality parts for a fast-paced, growing manufacturing operation that supports the data center industry. This role requires the ability to work independently, interpret blueprints accurately, and meet tight deadlines on either a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule.
Responsibilities- Set up CNC turret punch presses and related metal fabrication machines autonomously according to production requirements and specifications.
- Operate CNC laser, turret, punch press, or press brake equipment to fabricate metal components to precise measurements.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine job requirements, tooling, and machine settings.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures for each job, ensuring correct setup and alignment.
- Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and ensure parts meet quality and dimensional specifications.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and consistency, and identify any defects or deviations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following established safety and housekeeping procedures.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting production schedules and tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues and improve processes.
- Flexibly work required overtime to support production demands on 2nd or 3rd shift as needed.
- Hands-on experience operating CNC laser, turret punch, punch press, or press brake equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in setting up CNC machines and metal fabrication equipment independently.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with metal fabrication processes and working with sheet metal components.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment with tight deadlines.
- Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (2:00pm–10:00pm) or 3rd shift (10:00pm–6:00am) and be flexible with overtime requirements.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precise parts.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for adjusting machine settings and resolving minor issues.
- Prior experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Comfort working with CNC equipment and metal fabrication tools.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following established procedures.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple jobs and meet production targets.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility within a climate-controlled area of the plant, helping maintain a comfortable temperature while working with metal fabrication equipment. Work is performed on set 2nd shift (2:00pm–10:00pm) or 3rd shift (10:00pm–6:00am), with flexibility for overtime when production demands increase. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with standard industrial safety practices, equipment, and procedures in place.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
