Job Description
This role focuses on safely handling, lifting, and sorting pallets, barrels, and boxes received from retail locations, and placing them in the correct shredders or storage containers. You will support daily warehouse operations by maintaining an organized work area, following safety procedures, and contributing to a reliable, efficient material flow.
Responsibilities
- Lift, move, and sort pallets, barrels, and boxes that arrive from retail locations.
- Place materials into the appropriate shredders or designated storage containers according to established procedures.
- Ensure items are correctly identified and organized to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Handle materials safely, consistently lifting items over 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Perform general cleaning tasks to keep work areas neat, safe, and free of debris.
- Work both inside and outside as needed, adapting to changing conditions while maintaining productivity.
- Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures for material handling and equipment use.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate daily tasks and resolve issues quickly.
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliability by adhering to attendance expectations and scheduled work hours.
- Ability to consistently lift and carry items weighing over 50 pounds.
- Experience with cleaning and maintaining a tidy work environment.
- Skill in sorting and organizing materials accurately and efficiently.
- Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Strong punctuality and reliability, with a commitment to meeting attendance requirements.
- Basic understanding of safe material handling practices.
- Forklift experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Willingness to learn new processes and participate in training and skill development.
- Positive attitude and readiness to work as part of a team.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse setting that includes both indoor and outdoor work areas. You will handle pallets, barrels, and boxes and may work near shredding equipment and storage containers. The environment can involve varying temperatures and conditions due to inside/outside work. You should expect a physically active role that requires frequent lifting and movement throughout the shift, with a focus on safety and cleanliness. Standard warehouse attire is appropriate, emphasizing practical, comfortable clothing and closed-toe footwear suitable for material handling work.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reidsville, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
