Job Title: Production Associate
Job Description
The Production Associate completes large parts assembly activities within an assigned work cell while consistently maintaining product quality, meeting production goals, and following all safety procedures. This role works requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete required large parts assembly activities for an assigned work cell while maintaining high product quality.
- Achieve and maintain daily production rates and goals as required by the business.
- Read, understand, and follow standard work instructions for all assigned tasks.
- Keep supervisory staff informed of all cell activity, including quality issues, parts supply concerns, and safety matters within the scope of responsibility.
- Complete all required work cell activities and documentation accurately and on time as requested by the supervisor.
- Attend all required training sessions and apply learned practices to daily work.
- Adhere to all safety procedures at all times and follow plant safety policies.
- Identify and address quality and safety concerns through the appropriate channels for the assigned cell.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and support department projects, tasks, and objectives.
- Keep the workstation clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards at all times.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards in all work activities.
- Use all required tools in the assigned work area safely and correctly.
- Adhere to all required company policies and procedures.
- Work all scheduled hours and perform overtime as mandated by the business.
- Perform other job duties as assigned by leadership.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in English comprehension and expression, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read and follow standard work instructions accurately.
- Ability to achieve and maintain daily production rates and goals.
- Experience using hand tools for mechanical assembly tasks.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds of weight on a repetitive basis.
- Ability to stand, push, pull, bend, twist, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to work in weather extremes, including very hot conditions.
- Willingness and ability to adhere to plant safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Reliability in working all scheduled hours and performing overtime as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with mechanical assembly in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with hand tools and other basic assembly tools.
- Experience using Outlook and Excel for basic communication and documentation.
- Experience working with pick tickets, receiving, freight handling, or similar logistics tasks.
- Forklift experience or exposure to material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality.
- Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities and department projects.
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards in the workplace.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment within an assigned work cell. There are 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift openings with overtime required as mandated by the business at times. The facility can be very hot in the summer and may involve exposure to weather extremes. Work is physically demanding and requires standing, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing throughout the shift, as well as repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds. The position involves the use of hand tools, mechanical assembly equipment, and standard personal protective equipment (PPE), which must be worn at all times as required by plant safety policies. The environment emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with an expectation that workstations remain orderly and free of safety hazards.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.25 - $20.75/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
