Job Title: Quality Manager
Job Description
The Quality Manager leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure that products and processes consistently meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This role oversees both quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing operations, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and leads quality teams to improve efficiency, reduce defects, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and continuously optimize Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with ISO and applicable industry regulations.
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing operations to ensure consistent product and process quality.
- Monitor production quality through inspections, statistical process control, and data analysis to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other relevant regulatory requirements by establishing and enforcing quality policies, procedures, and standards.
- Lead internal and external quality audits, including planning, execution, documentation, and follow-up on findings and recommendations.
- Develop, implement, and manage control plans to maintain process stability and prevent defects.
- Lead root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities, including the use of tools such as FMEA, Fishbone diagrams, and other failure analysis methods.
- Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs to address nonconformities, prevent recurrence, and improve overall system effectiveness.
- Supervise, train, and develop quality team members, providing coaching, feedback, and support to build a high-performing, accountable quality organization.
- Communicate quality performance metrics, risks, and improvement plans to leadership and key stakeholders on a regular basis.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with ISO and industry regulations.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and practical experience in implementing and sustaining ISO-compliant systems.
- Hands-on experience with quality tools and methodologies including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and control plans.
- Demonstrated expertise in corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and structured root cause analysis, including root cause failure analysis techniques.
- Experience conducting and leading internal and external quality audits in regulated manufacturing environments.
- Advanced statistical and analytical skills, including trend analysis, process capability assessment, and data-driven decision-making.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems that include quality modules, such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Knowledge and application of advanced quality techniques such as Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and reliability testing.
This is a Permanent position based out of Whitsett, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $165000.00/yr.
