Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will monitor equipment performance, safety, and effectiveness, analyze equipment failures, troubleshoot and diagnose issues, and complete both preventive and unscheduled maintenance tasks. You will also document all work and equipment modifications in the maintenance system while strictly following established safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
- Create, update, and complete work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with accurate and detailed information.
- Communicate clear instructions and technical information to machine operators and other production personnel.
- Report daily results, equipment status, and issues both verbally and through written reports.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Maintain and follow the preventive maintenance schedule for all assigned equipment.
- Use the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to monitor equipment and ensure it operates at expected performance levels.
- Inspect and maintain all equipment regularly to prevent unplanned outages and extend equipment life.
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on production equipment, including diagnostics and component replacement.
- Work with 480 AC and 24 DC systems safely and effectively.
- Access and make modifications in PLCs using Studio 5000 as needed for troubleshooting and minor changes.
- Interact with HMIs and Powerflex drives to monitor and adjust equipment parameters.
- Maintain and repair heating elements, thermocouples, proximity sensors, and pneumatic components.
- Support production requirements by adjusting work priorities and responding to urgent maintenance needs.
- Execute any other assigned maintenance duties promptly and effectively in support of production operations.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies during maintenance activities.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in fundamental computer tasks, including use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a production maintenance environment.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced and occasionally stressful conditions.
- Consistent and precise adherence to written and verbal instructions and procedures.
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance skills with hands-on experience in a production setting.
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience working with 480 AC and 24 DC electrical systems.
- Ability to access and make modifications in PLCs using Studio 5000 (no full programming required).
- Familiarity with HMIs and Powerflex drives for monitoring and adjusting equipment.
- Experience working with heating elements, thermocouples, and proximity sensors.
- Pneumatic maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing production requirements and priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of production maintenance experience.
- Ability to stand and/or sit at a workstation for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

- Experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience in troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems for monitoring and verifying equipment performance.
- Understanding of repair practices for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Comfort working with limited hydraulic systems, even though they are not heavily used on site.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with operators, peers, and leadership.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and priorities efficiently.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces and distributes air and water filter products. You will work hands-on with complex electrical and mechanical production equipment, including systems operating at 480 AC and 24 DC, PLCs using Studio 5000, HMIs, Powerflex drives, heating elements, thermocouples, proximity sensors, and pneumatic components. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with a strong emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and organization. Two primary shifts are available: first shift (approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) and third shift (approximately 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday), with a shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Overtime is often available, and maintenance team members commonly work around 45–50 hours per week, including occasional Saturdays on a voluntary basis. The work requires prolonged standing or sitting at a workstation and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while working around production machinery and tools in a typical industrial setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr.
