Underwriting Associate

Description

Looking for candidates with strong investigative skills, the ability to utilize the internet as a research tool, excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to work in a fast paced team environment, excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines, and adaptability in a constantly changing environment, including changes to technology, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory conditions

Daily Duties:

• Utilize company underwriting criteria to evaluate risks for various lines of business
• Perform independent verification of insured's operations
• Review and process change requests on in-force policies
• Evaluate in-force policies at renewal
• Participate in Underwriting Training for new products, directives and processes
• Assist with special projects as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree required - prefer business related fields

Confirmed collegiate GPA of 3.0 or higher

Candidates must pass a Wonderlic test as well (this test takes about 40 minutes-it has 3 sections and must be done all at once.

Preferred skills but not required:

Previous Financial Services experience or Insurance experience

Prior Underwriting experience

Previous Property & Casualty experience
