Job Title: Surgical Scheduling Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Scheduling Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the primary contact for surgical patients, assisting with their needs under the supervision of physicians. This role involves scheduling appointments, educating patients about conditions, and ensuring accurate documentation of medical records.
Responsibilities
- Receive calls from surgical patients and assess their needs for advice or care.
- Communicate with patients professionally and compassionately to educate them about conditions.
- Schedule patient appointments following standard procedures and templates.
- Document patients' medical records, including medications and allergies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Complete surgical consent forms, lab orders, and other patient forms promptly.
- Maintain patient logs, such as biopsy and laboratory test logs.
- Assist patients with EHR patient portal registration.
- Continually learn and explain new and existing dermatological conditions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Experience in ambulatory surgical scheduling is a plus.
- Comfortable with inbound and outbound phone work, including calling patients with results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portsmouth, NH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
