We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced sports medicine office. The ideal candidate will provide empathetic care to patients, update patient information, and support back-office functions. This role involves working closely with patients experiencing various sports-related injuries and assisting in their recovery and treatment.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate care to patients.
- Update patient information, including family histories and previous visit notes.
- Perform patient intakes and room loading.
- Conduct vital checks and medication reconciliation.
- Prepare charts prior to patient visits and prepare patient rooms.
- Complete prior authorizations and restock rooms and supply closets.
- Complete inventory and triage phones for any physician or patient questions.
- Update electronic medical records using EPIC.
- Medical assisting experience, preferably 1 year, but open to new graduates.
- CMA certification required and must have an accredited diploma from a Medical Assistant school.
- Comfortable working in a sports medicine practice with fast-paced office visits.
- Experience with EMR and patient care.
- Orthopedic experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Athena is beneficial.
The position involves working in a high-volume sports medicine office with approximately 80-100 patients per day, per physician seeing 20-50 patients a day. The role requires adaptability to different personalities and working alongside five other Medical Assistants once the team is fully staffed. The schedule is 40 hours a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 am to 5 pm in Bridgewater, NJ, and Tuesday/Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm, floating between Berkeley Heights and Westfield. Occasionally, work may be required on Saturdays from 7-11 am or 8-12 pm. A 30-minute unpaid lunch is included. Flexibility is needed, as shifts can vary slightly depending on the doctor's schedule, and availability is required between 7 am and 6 pm.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
