Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Associate
Job Description
Manage and prepare regulatory documents in line with industry standards, company policies, and customer needs. Offer regulatory and compliance support to both customers and company team members. Ensure all internal regulatory data is maintained and updated regularly.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety reviews of fragrance formulas to ensure regulatory compliance and meet customer-specific requirements.
- Generate and prepare regulatory documents as needed for sample requests and customer inquiries.
- Communicate compliance and regulatory information to customers and suppliers, providing accurate and timely responses to all questions and regulatory inquiries from the Sales team.
- Collaborate with Perfumers and Evaluators on regulatory requirements for fragrance creation, reviewing formulas and application use in the appropriate system/database to confirm compliance.
- Assist the Sample Lab by ensuring all samples meet regulatory and customer requirements before shipping.
- Maintain and manage the internal regulatory database, updating documents to ensure all fragrance and product development raw materials have up-to-date Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and other required regulatory documentation.
- Verify proper classification of all materials.
- Review and develop efficient processes for regulatory requirements, both customer-specific and legislative, to streamline the review and reporting of necessary information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Familiarity with IFRA and 82 Allergens.
- Knowledge of NA regulations, with WERCs experience being a plus.
- Understanding of Canada & EU Regulations is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related fields.
- 1+ years of fragrance regulatory or quality experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in regulatory affairs and quality assurance.
- Mathematical skills.
- Experience with studio and trefoil systems.
Work Environment
- The role requires working in an office with occasional walks through laboratory and production areas.
- The work environment has a low to moderate noise level, and strong odors may often be present.
- The individual must be on-site during scheduled work hours, with the possibility of performing duties beyond regular shift hours including weekends and evenings if needed.
- There is potential for occasional remote work in accordance with company policy and with manager approval.
- The nature of the work offers growth opportunities and flexible hours, with options to choose an 8-hour day between 6am-6pm, Monday through Friday.
