Pay: $22-$23/hour ; Overtime: $33-$34.50/hour

Job Description
The Material Coordinator supports production by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time and location within the facility. This role coordinates closely with production, warehouse, quality, and engineering teams to organize finished products, manage inventory, assist with job scheduling in SAP, and support final assembly and packaging as needed. The position requires an intermediate level of manufacturing knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Production Manager in directing warehouse staff workload to meet production and shipping requirements.
- Identify component requirements for production based on information from engineering and production plans.
- Review work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped.
- Track the delivery and movement of materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure timely availability for production.
- Assist with job scheduling and production planning activities in SAP.
- Read and interpret assembly blueprints, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and work order travelers to support material coordination and assembly activities.
- Work with SAP management software and Smartsheets to monitor and expedite production schedules.
- Perform a variety of assembly operations using drawings, BOMs, and work order travelers to assemble modules, boards, panels, and cables.
- Use small hand tools such as needle nose pliers, de-soldering tools, tweezers, brushes, screwdrivers, clippers, and wire strippers to support assembly work.
- Communicate regularly with shop leads regarding product quality, material status, and production schedules.
- Operate within the requirements of an ISO 9001 Quality System and follow established procedures and documentation practices.
- Maintain awareness of and comply with environmental and safety policies and regulations while performing duties to high quality standards.
- Work independently, follow established schedules, and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in regular shop cleanup and housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Perform accurate data entry related to inventory, work orders, and material movements.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in inventory control, inventory management, and material handling in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to understand and interpret assembly prints, blueprints, drawings, BOMs, and work order travelers.
- Intermediate-level knowledge of manufacturing operations and the technical aspects of production processes.
- Ability to work with SAP or similar ERP systems for job scheduling, inventory, and production tracking.
- Experience with raw materials handling and production materials coordination.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong ability to perform physical assembly of parts and components.
- Ability to perform a variety of assembly operations on modules, boards, panels, and cables.
- Proficiency with small hand tools such as needle nose pliers, de-soldering tools, tweezers, brushes, screwdrivers, clippers, and wire strippers.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and use of production and tracking software.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with production, warehouse, quality, and engineering teams.
- Commitment to maintaining high quality standards and adherence to ISO 9001 Quality System requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using Smartsheets or similar tools to track and expedite production schedules.
- Familiarity with working under an ISO 9001 Quality System and related documentation practices.
- Experience collaborating with quality, environmental, health, and safety teams to ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist coworkers and support cross-functional tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tracking materials, inventory, and work orders.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and participate in shop cleanup activities.
This is a Permanent position based out of Kearny, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $49920.00/yr.
