Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic maintains and repairs manufacturing, filling, packaging, and facility equipment in a regulated pharmaceutical environment, ensuring reliable operation of production systems and utilities. This role follows Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices while supporting day-to-day manufacturing activities in classified and clean room areas. The position involves mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance work on a wide range of equipment and utilities, including HVAC and water systems, to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, including formulation, filling, and packaging machinery, to ensure consistent and reliable operation.
- Maintain and support plant utility systems, including boilers, air compressors, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), Water for Injection (WFI), and related systems.
- Perform maintenance, installations, and repairs on manufacturing and facility equipment, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and light construction tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support operations in day-to-day manufacturing activities within classified areas and clean rooms, working with a variety of production equipment and technologies.
- Develop and document preventative maintenance and calibration programs for production equipment, clean rooms, and utilities.
- Record preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and calibration activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Coordinate services with outside vendors for calibration and routine maintenance of equipment and utilities.
- Execute equipment installation and qualification activities in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Deploy 5S strategies for organizing and maintaining spare parts inventory, utilizing CMMS software to track and manage parts.
- Monitor facility and manufacturing operating equipment daily, identify problems or inefficiencies, and recommend and implement solutions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation issues on industrial equipment and systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ledgewood, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
