We are seeking a talented Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting cutting-edge upgrades within the nuclear energy sector. In this role, you will contribute to modernizing plant systems through advanced digital control upgrades while working on complex, high-visibility projects that drive operational excellence and safety.
What You’ll Do
As an I&C Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and executing plant modification projects, with a focus on digital system upgrades. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing Engineering Change Packages (ECPs), including:
- Wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
- P&IDs
- Logic diagrams and instrument connection details
- Creating and reviewing system functional descriptions and control logic
- Specifying and evaluating process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, and level)
- Performing critical engineering calculations (instrument setpoints, electrical load analysis, etc.)
- Collaborating across teams—working closely with clients, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Supporting multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
What You Bring
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering
- 5+ years of instrumentation & controls experience
- 3+ years supporting design work in operating U.S. nuclear power plants
- Strong foundation in engineering design, analysis, and calculations
- Knowledge of nuclear regulations and industry standards
Preferred:
- Experience in power generation or heavy industrial environments
- Hands-on exposure to digital control system upgrades (e.g., Ovation, Honeywell, Schneider)
- Leadership experience, including mentoring junior engineers or leading technical teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to obtain unescorted access to nuclear facilities

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Laurel, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $77.00/hr.
