Job Description
The Technician supports the maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of scaffolding and sidewalk canopy systems used on commercial construction projects across the New York City and New Jersey markets. This hands-on role focuses on preparing equipment for deployment by sanding, painting, cleaning, assembling, inspecting, and repairing components to ensure they meet quality and safety standards before reaching active job sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on preparation, maintenance, and refurbishment of scaffolding and sidewalk canopy components.
- Sand, paint, clean, and repair materials so they meet established company quality standards.
- Assist with the assembly and disassembly of scaffold and canopy systems in a safe and efficient manner.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during all tasks.
- Load, unload, organize, and stage materials for shipment to commercial construction project sites.
- Inspect materials for damage and identify components requiring repair or replacement.
- Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards throughout daily operations.
- Follow written and verbal work instructions and collaborate with team members to meet production and deployment goals.
- Support inventory management and material tracking activities to ensure accurate stock levels and proper documentation.
- Perform general labor and construction-related tasks as needed to support overall operations.
Essential Skills
- Ability to perform general labor and construction-related tasks in a hands-on environment.
- Proficiency using hand tools safely and effectively for maintenance and assembly work.
- Proficiency using power tools safely and effectively for sanding, cutting, and other preparation tasks.
- Experience with assembly and disassembly of mechanical or structural components, such as scaffolding or similar systems.
- Capability to sand, paint, clean, and repair materials to meet defined quality standards.
- Ability to load, unload, organize, and stage materials for shipment in a warehouse or yard setting.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting materials for damage and identifying components that require repair or replacement.
- Ability to follow work instructions accurately and work collaboratively with a team to meet production goals.
- Commitment to maintaining warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Reliability and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with scaffolding, sidewalk canopy systems, or similar construction support equipment.
- Experience in construction, warehouse operations, or industrial maintenance.
- Familiarity with inventory management and material tracking processes.
- Bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish are highly preferred.
- Comfort working around commercial construction projects and related equipment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse and yard environment that supports commercial construction projects across the New York City and New Jersey markets. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of South Hackensack, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
