Job Title: Forklift Operator – Day Shift
*Monday-Friday, 6AM - 2:30 PM, $18+ per hour*
Job Description
This role supports an industrial fabrication shop by safely and efficiently moving raw metal materials and finished products to their proper locations. You will operate a forklift, assist with general material handling tasks, and help maintain an organized, production-ready environment. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about fabrication, enjoys hands-on work, and wants to grow their skills in an industrial setting.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift safely to move raw metal materials and finished products throughout the fabrication shop and yard.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, storage racks, and production areas using a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Stack and unstack materials in designated locations to support efficient workflow and safe storage.
- Use a tape measure to verify material dimensions and ensure accurate placement and handling of materials.
- Assist with general labor tasks such as material handling, basic painting, sandblasting support, and fabrication support as needed.
- Count materials and products accurately and record quantities to support inventory and production tracking.
- Complete and maintain required documentation and paperwork related to material movement and counts.
- Follow all safety procedures while working both indoors and outdoors, including safe forklift operation and proper handling of materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the shop and outdoor yard.
- Collaborate with team members and production staff to ensure materials are available where and when they are needed.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to operate a forklift safely and effectively in an industrial or fabrication environment.
- Experience with loading, unloading, stacking, and unstacking materials using a forklift.
- Ability to use a tape measure accurately to verify material dimensions.
- Capability to lift up to 25 lbs as part of daily duties.
- Basic counting skills and attention to detail for accurate material and product counts.
- Ability to complete documentation and paperwork related to material handling and inventory.
- Comfort working in both indoor shop and outdoor yard environments while following safety procedures.
- Strong awareness of safety practices in an industrial or fabrication setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or a similar production environment.
- Experience in general labor tasks such as material handling, painting, sandblasting, or fabrication support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly material storage and workflow.

Work Environment

The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing a consistent day shift. Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions when outdoors and typical fabrication activities such as painting, sandblasting support, and material handling when in the shop.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
