Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC systems in a variety of facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation. You will troubleshoot complex HVAC issues using schematics and diagnostic tools, perform routine service tasks, and support related building systems to keep environments comfortable and operational.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair commercial HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot HVAC issues using electrical and mechanical schematics, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer documentation.
- Conduct routine service tasks, including filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, and system calibration.
- Maintain and repair related systems such as electrical components, plumbing connections, and building automation controls associated with HVAC equipment.
- Complete service requests and preventive maintenance tasks using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and equipment performance in accordance with company standards.
- Support HVAC installation work as needed to ensure proper setup, commissioning, and operation of new systems.
- Work safely in commercial environments such as schools, hospitals, and data centers, following site-specific procedures and guidelines.
Essential Skills
- 5–7 years of commercial HVAC service experience, with consideration for candidates with at least 3 years of experience.
- Hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance and HVAC repair in commercial settings.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, including electrical and mechanical diagrams.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC systems using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
- Experience working with building automation controls related to HVAC systems.
- Ability to maintain detailed service and maintenance records in a CMMS or similar system.
- Strong understanding of safety practices when working with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- EPA Universal certification preferred.

Work Environment
- This is a first-shift role, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in a non-union environment.
- You will primarily work in commercial facilities such as schools, hospitals, and data centers, servicing and maintaining HVAC and related systems.
- The position involves field work at customer sites, using diagnostic tools, schematics, and a CMMS to manage tasks and documentation.

This is a Permanent position based out of Albany, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $93600.00/yr.
