Application Engineer
Location: Deer Park, NY (Onsite)
We are seeking a motivated Application Engineer to support customers and the field sales team by developing technical solutions, preparing proposals, and providing engineering expertise across a variety of industries, including aerospace, defense, automotive, and industrial manufacturing.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical engineer who enjoys both technical problem-solving and customer interaction. The role offers extensive training, exposure to diverse applications, and a clear path into Sales Engineering and other advanced engineering positions.
Key Responsibilities
During Training (First 6-12 Months)
- Learn company products, applications, and engineering processes
- Support the sales team with technical product knowledge
- Assist with customer inquiries and application reviews
- Develop an understanding of balancing and vibration equipment applications
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams
After Training
- Generate quotations and proposals in response to customer inquiries and bid requests
- Analyze customer requirements and recommend technical solutions
- Develop application concepts, performance specifications, pricing, and tooling recommendations
- Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Participate in customer meetings to discuss project requirements and solutions
- Provide technical support to internal sales teams, representatives, and customers
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution
- Travel to customer sites as needed (approximately 15%)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET)
- Electro-Mechanical Engineering
- Related Engineering discipline
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-focused mindset with an interest in technical sales and applications engineering
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Strong computer proficiency
- Ability to learn complex technical products and applications
- Willingness to travel up to 15% after the training period
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar CAD software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and machine components
- Hands-on experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical systems
- Automotive, manufacturing, fabrication, robotics, or assembly experience
- Technical hobbies involving vehicles, machinery, fabrication, or engineering projects

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deer Park, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
