Looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician to repair complex electronic equipment, involving troubleshooting to determine the cause of operational failure, replacing or repairing malfunctioning components, and testing the equipment to documented performance standards.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Repair semi-complex electronic equipment such as printed circuit boards, multiplexing systems, and amplifiers.
  • Troubleshoot equipment by subjecting it to various diagnostic tests to determine the cause of operational failure.
  • Reconstruct or replace defective parts as required and adjust mechanical parts.
  • Review all engineering change notices related to the design and operation of the equipment.
  • Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment according to specifications.
  • Apply new paint or other coatings to equipment components.
  • Test the equipment to documented performance standards.
  • Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, and tests on a computer database system.
  • Support product investigations by providing technical assistance to Production, Test, Field Service, and Engineering departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's/Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or equivalent experience.
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience as a repair technician.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools.
  • Troubleshooting and testing skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic components.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Proficiency in soldering and testing circuits.
  • Experience in electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed records.
  • Ability to support multiple departments.

Work Environment:

  • Work on the manufacturing floor, with assigned benches and various testing areas. Depending on the test, you may work in different chambers.
  • Troubleshoot products, identify or confirm issues, replace or repair components, and retest before moving it along.
  • Work under the guidance of a lead and supervisor, with training provided.
  • Work schedule follows a 9/80 work week—9 hours each day for the first week, with an 8-hour day on Friday.
