Job Description
The VTF Direct-to-Film (DTF) and Heat Press Operator plays a crucial role in operating and maintaining the printing press to produce high-quality film output that aligns with production standards. This position demands strong attention to detail, consistent color and print quality, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. The operator will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement, uphold safety standards, and ensure timely delivery.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the VTF Direct-to-Film press according to job specifications.
- Load film, inks, and other supplies, ensuring correct materials and quantities.
- Perform routine press maintenance, cleaning, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor print quality and make necessary corrections to maintain color accuracy and consistency.
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical and print issues and escalate complex problems to maintenance or leadership.
- Track production output and report any issues affecting quality, productivity, or delivery.
- Follow standard operating procedures.
- Inspect prints for defects, color variation, and adherence to customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality checks and production data.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company standards.
- Use calibration tools, color management systems, and measurement devices to ensure accurate output.
- Apply troubleshooting skills to resolve press issues and minimize downtime.
- Utilize production software and documentation tools to track jobs and record data.
- Experience in production and machine operation.
- Quality inspection skills.
- Knowledge of film and general production.
- Ability to read blueprints and printing specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic mechanical skills and ability to perform routine maintenance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience operating digital or film printing equipment (DTF experience preferred).
- Ability to read job orders, interpret specifications, and follow SOPs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including overtime when necessary.

Work Environment
Our Client is a global company that manufactures and distributes materials and solutions for branding, packaging, and identification. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3:30pm. The dress code is casual, permitting jeans, slacks, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies, with steel-toed boots or sneakers required. Avoid baggy clothing or loose/hanging jewelry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liverpool, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
