Hybrid Customer Service Representative in Melville, NY
Job Description
This role focuses on providing excellent customer service by handling incoming calls and emails related to order placement and inquiries. The Customer Service Representative processes orders accurately, uses CRM and ERP systems to manage customer information, and collaborates closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth order-to-delivery experience. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, opportunities for overtime, and the chance to grow skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming customer calls and emails related to order placement, order status, and general inquiries.
- Perform accurate and timely data entry to process customer orders efficiently.
- Utilize CRM and ERP systems to manage orders and track customer interactions, using tools such as Visual/Infor and Apollo or similar platforms.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers via phone and email to resolve questions and issues.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including other customer service colleagues, sales operations, international customer service, sales teams, sales managers, and account managers.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and ensure a positive customer experience in every interaction.
- Document customer information, order details, and communication notes accurately in the appropriate systems.
- Identify potential upselling opportunities and contribute to sales growth when appropriate, while maintaining a customer-first focus.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrate reliability and commitment to long-term stability in the role.
Essential Skills
- Customer service experience handling inbound calls and emails, or strong interest in developing these skills.
- Proficiency in basic data entry with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to use computers confidently and navigate multiple systems and applications.
- Experience with CRM or ERP systems, or a strong willingness and ability to learn similar tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable speaking with customers and internal employees.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and cross-functional teams.
- Growth mindset with a desire to expand skills beyond current capabilities.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Open to candidates with relevant experience or an Associate’s degree.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using CRM or ERP platforms such as Visual/Infor or Apollo, or similar systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for basic tasks and data review, even though it is not used for primary data entry.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Commitment to long-term stability in the role, with a minimum of two years preferred.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to working within a small team environment.
Work Environment
This is a full-time role with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the option to take on overtime if desired. The team currently consists of three members and is looking to add one more, creating a close-knit and collaborative environment. The position follows a hybrid work model: during the first two months, you will work four days on-site and one day remote each week as part of the training period. After training, the schedule transitions to three days on-site and two days remote each week. The role reports into sales operations leadership and emphasizes long-term stability, with an expectation of at least a two-year commitment. The work setting is professional, computer-based, and focused on customer interaction, order processing, and cross-functional collaboration.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.25/hr.
