In this role, you'll be at the forefront of resident engineering and inspection projects across New York City, specifically for MTA projects spanning all five boroughs. You'll play a crucial role in a major project focused on replacing water distribution mains, ensuring the success of this significant initiative.

Responsibilities:

  • Create daily reports and check inspector’s daily reports and contractor’s invoices.
  • Prepare pay estimates and maintain as-built drawings.
  • Review submittals and requests for information from contractors.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and record minutes of meetings.
  • Assist with agency audits and update agency websites/files with progress information.
  • Help with project closeout.
  • Coordinate preparation and review of progress project documents, such as revised engineering drawings and schedules to ensure agency contract requirements are met.
  • Review contract to determine documentation required for each phase of the project, applying knowledge of engineering.
  • Prepare authorizations to proceed, change orders, and extra work orders.
  • Monitor status of the project to ensure required documentation is submitted according to schedule.
  • Review and verify project documents for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Submit project documentation to management for approval and transmit approved documents to the agency or to a general contractor.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT, NYCDEP, or NYSDOT specifications.
  • Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisions.
  • Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or NICET III
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with NYSDOT or other DOT experience.
  • Engineer-In-Training Certification is preferred.
  • NICET III Certification preferred.
  • Current OSHA 30 Training
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong verbal and accurate writing communication skills
