Job Title: Engineering Project Lead (Hybrid)
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Project Lead to manage design changes and documentation updates supporting product maintenance. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, driving engineering tasks, and ensuring timely execution of project deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience working with tangible products in regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams on design change projects.
- Manage updates to product documentation and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Independently plan, execute, and direct engineering assignments.
- Collaborate with remote and on-site teams to ensure project alignment.
- Utilize tools such as Microsoft Project, SAP, and Smartsheet for project tracking and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, particularly in medical or similarly regulated industries.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of recent experience in a similar role.
- Proven leadership experience in engineering or technical projects.
- Strong communication and matrix management skills.
- Conceptual understanding of BOMs and experience modifying physical product materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience leading projects or acting as a technical lead.
- Familiarity with SAP, Smartsheet, and MRP/ERP systems.
- Background in medical device design, development, or other highly regulated industries (e.g., pharmaceutical).
- Experience with PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) changes or mechanical mold modifications.
- Comfortable working in hybrid and partially remote team environments.
Work Environment
Located in Skaneateles, NY, the position offers a hybrid schedule with in-office work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and remote work on Monday and Friday. The typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Project teams typically consist of 5–15 members, and reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The contract duration is through December 2025, with potential for contract-to-hire. Technologies used in this environment include SAP, Smartsheet, MRP, and ERP systems.
