Job Title: Mechanical Superintendent of Construction
Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Superintendent of Construction to manage and oversee field operations for various construction projects. The role includes coordinating with teams, ensuring safety compliance, and managing the installation of piping systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, including high-rise and mid-rise residential or commercial office spaces.
Responsibilities
- Outline daily tasks and responsibilities for field crews.
- Assist with 3D coordination, RFIs, and change orders.
- Review and oversee the installation of all piping systems.
- Manage field crews and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, riser plans, and assist with the layout process.
- Lay out sleeves on decks and mark up as-built drawings.
- Document field activities and maintain accurate records.
- Participate in coordination meetings and safety meetings.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and review daily reports.
- Implement and enforce safety standards.
- Track material deliveries and ensure timely arrival.
- Assist in the startup and commissioning of all systems.
- Manage a team of 10-15 personnel.
Essential Skills
- 5-10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
- High-rise and mid-rise experience on residential or commercial office spaces.
- 2+ years of experience as a Foreman preferred.
- Experience with piping systems such as condenser water, steam, or refrigerant.
- Proficiency in Construction Management software such as Procore and MS Office.
- SST 62 Hour certification.
- Ability to manage a team of 10-15 people.
- Ability to read shop drawings and blueprints.
- Experience handling construction documents such as RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Navisworks or Bluebeam.
- Consistent work history supporting mechanical contractors.
Work Environment
This position requires spending 80% of the time on-site and the remaining 20% in the office, assisting with construction documents and drawings/blueprints.
