Maintenance Engineer up to $25/hr!
Job Description
Join a stable, family-owned manufacturing company as a Maintenance Engineer supporting a high-volume cold forming and machining operation that produces special fasteners and formed rods for the automotive and lawn care industries. You will work on 1st or 2nd shift in an industrial manufacturing environment, focusing on troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving CNC equipment and related machinery to ensure consistent, high-quality production.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot CNC machines, including job shop CNC mills and CNC lathes, to quickly identify and resolve mechanical and control-related issues.
- Perform maintenance and diagnostics on CNC equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
- Edit and adjust CNC programs, including G & M code, to optimize machine performance and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Utilize engineering and control edits to improve machine reliability, accuracy, and throughput.
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and confirm that parts meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address equipment concerns and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support manual machining diagnostics and repairs as needed to keep all shop equipment operating safely and efficiently.
- Assist with electrical troubleshooting on production machinery and related equipment as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment performance and maintenance practices.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintenance best practices to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting CNC machines, specifically job shop CNC mills and CNC lathes.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machine troubleshooting in a production or job shop environment.
- Ability to perform engineering and control edits on CNC equipment.
- Proficiency in editing G & M code for CNC programs.
- Experience with Mastercam programming and/or editing.
- Skilled in using precision measurement tools, including micrometers and calipers, to verify part dimensions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve machine issues efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively in an industrial manufacturing setting supporting automotive and lawn care industry products.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with manual machining diagnostics and repair.
- Background in electrical troubleshooting on production machinery.
- Familiarity with boring mills and other manual machining equipment.
- Exposure to tool and die work or related precision machining tasks.
- Comfort working with a variety of CNC and manual equipment in a job shop environment.
- Willingness to work either 1st shift (6:30 AM–3:00 PM) or 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) as needed.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
