Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking skilled Manufacturing Engineers to join our Aluminum Machining Department at the Anna Engine Plant. This role involves leading, creating, and implementing innovative technical activities and solutions in areas of mass production, business planning, and new model development. The aim is to efficiently meet or exceed safety, environment, quality, delivery, and cost targets.


Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization to ensure a common understanding and direction.
  • Review and analyze daily reports to identify safety, quality, and delivery gaps, and develop potential countermeasures and root cause analysis opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Utilize data analysis and PDCA to lead, support, and justify solutions in collaboration with related groups and departments to solve complex problems.
  • Monitor and manage equipment and processes to ensure optimal manufacturing performance and minimize operating expenses.
  • Develop capabilities of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of technical expertise.
  • Establish priorities and make data-driven decisions to effectively accomplish business objectives.
  • Manage project implementation, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure successful completion and target achievement.
  • Test, evaluate, and implement new technologies to improve equipment and process efficiency.
  • Develop and manage investment and expense budgets to achieve overall cost targets.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 2-5 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience in PLC automation, process improvement, continuous improvement, and project management.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, and lean manufacturing.
  • Skills in PLC troubleshooting, PLC programming, CNC programming, and CNC operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Entry-level Co-Op experience in engineering manufacturing or automation with PLC or CNC experience is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 6 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Computer literacy to support industry-standard software applications.
  • Positive attitude, open-mindedness, and strong teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivation and a desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership capabilities and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Work Environment

The work environment involves a steel manufacturing setting with a 50/50 split between desk work and plant floor activities. The focus is on heavy equipment operations. This is a contract-to-hire role offering a long-term opportunity, including 5 PTO days up front, holiday pay, and shutdown pay if the team is not working.
