Job Description
This role focuses on assembling and finishing large sheet metal enclosures by accurately measuring, fitting, and securing components to create a high-quality final product. You work with sheet metal pieces, perform basic tack welding, and complete various finishing tasks to ensure each enclosure meets specifications and is ready for delivery.
Responsibilities
- Measure and position sheet metal pieces, typically 10–15 feet in length, according to blueprints and shop drawings.
- Perform small tack welds to temporarily secure components in place so welders can complete the final welds.
- Button, bolt, and glue parts and hardware to the final product to ensure a secure and accurate assembly.
- Add mechanical and electrical components to the enclosure as specified in drawings and work instructions.
- Touch up paint on finished products to ensure a clean, professional appearance.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, and assembling metal parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to understand dimensions, tolerances, and assembly requirements.
- Verify measurements with a tape measure and confirm that assemblies meet required specifications.
- Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and on-time completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with metal components and assemblies.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
- Experience using a variety of hand and power tools in an assembly or construction setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
- Basic tack welding skills or willingness to perform small welds with proper training.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished products.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous assembly experience in manufacturing or construction is a plus.
- Trade school education or certifications in welding or construction are preferred.
- Ability to learn new fabrication and welding skills over time.
- Comfort working with large sheet metal pieces and industrial equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
