Job Description
The Quality Engineer supports manufacturing quality initiatives across multiple locations by driving corrective actions, improving processes, and partnering closely with operations to ensure that all products meet internal standards and customer requirements. This role focuses on both prevention through robust process controls, standardization, and audits, and response through thorough root cause analysis, containment, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). The Quality Engineer maintains strong cross-functional communication with engineering and operations teams to promote a culture of continuous improvement and consistent product quality.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing quality initiatives across multiple locations to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with internal and customer requirements.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions by leading structured root cause analysis and implementing effective containment and CAPA activities.
- Focus on preventive quality measures by developing, implementing, and maintaining process controls, standardization, and internal audit activities.
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to define and apply appropriate inspection and measurement requirements.
- Engage in supplier quality activities, including reviewing supplier processes and quality performance, to support consistent incoming material quality.
- Contribute to and support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities to ensure new or modified parts meet quality and performance expectations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally across multiple departments and sites to report quality findings, recommend improvements, and track action items.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process capability, reduce defects, and improve overall product reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Quality) or a related technical discipline, or equivalent quality engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Quality Engineering or quality-focused manufacturing role.
- Quality engineering experience, including practical involvement in manufacturing quality initiatives.
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective actions, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or similar advanced product quality planning activities.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications and applying related inspection and measurement requirements.
- Background in supplier quality, including evaluating and supporting supplier performance and quality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and sites.
- Experience in manufacturing environments where quality engineering, process control, and continuous improvement are key priorities.
- Ability to participate in or lead cross-functional quality improvement projects involving engineering, operations, and supplier teams.
- Familiarity with audits, process standardization, and implementation of preventive quality measures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured and data-driven approach to resolving quality issues.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bowling Green, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
