Job Description: This person will start on a $200M student housing project for the University of Cincinnati.
The ideal candidate will supervise subcontractors on-site, ensure safety and quality control, and manage daily production reports. This role demands a proactive individual capable of maintaining high safety standards and ensuring that projects are completed on schedule while adhering to contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily on-site supervision of subcontractors.
- Monitor contractor production, schedule, and performance.
- Manage subcontractor Daily Production Reports.
- Assist with coordination aspects as directed by the Project Manager.
- Conduct safety audits and assist with contractor quality control at construction locations.
- Assist subcontractors with Federal procedures and rules.
- Ensure contractors complete work on schedule while fulfilling warranty issues.
- Communicate daily status of current projects to the Project Manager to ensure all projects are timely and within company standards.
- Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all mandatory/regulatory requirements.
- Take necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
- Report and address all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly.
- Certify that all submittals are in compliance with contract requirements.
- Review plans and specifications to ensure requirements are met for each construction process.
- Review all catalog cuts and material submittals for compliance with plans and specifications.
- Ensure effective and timely preventive and corrective actions are taken to eliminate or minimize recurrence of problems.
- Conduct pre-final inspections, establish a punch list if required, and ensure all deficiencies are corrected.
- Submit as-builts on finished projects.
Essential Skills
- Ideally 3+ years of new construction Superintendent experience.
- Experience in new construction commercial construction.
- Skill in subcontractor management.
- Knowledge of quality control.
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).During the initial 6 months, you will be employed through Actalent Services where you will have access to full benefits (medical, dental, vision, PTO, holiday pay, and 401k). After 6 months you will be eligible to transition to the construction firm as a direct employee.
