Summary
The MEP VDC Production Modeler develops and advances mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) models from initial engineering design through coordination and fabrication-level detail. This role bridges engineering intent and field execution by producing highly constructible models that incorporate sequencing and installation requirements. The position supports project teams by translating design information into coordinated, fabrication-ready Revit MEP models aligned with project scope, schedule, and delivery objectives. These models are created for direct use by prefabrication and field installation teams, rather than solely for design coordination.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed Revit MEP models based on engineering drawings, markups, and specifications.
- Advance models from design intent to LOD 350–400, including routing, hanger placement, and coordination details.
- Incorporate constructability principles, installation sequencing, and field installation logic into the models.
- Translate engineering design information into coordinated, fabrication-ready models suitable for prefabrication and field installation.
- Align modeling deliverables with project scope, schedule, and overall delivery objectives.
- Support project teams by updating and refining models as design details and coordination requirements evolve.
- Ensure that models clearly reflect field conditions and practical installation methods to support efficient construction.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency with Revit for MEP modeling.
- Experience with MEP design concepts and systems.
- Ability to develop models to LOD 350–400, including routing and hanger placement.
- Strong understanding of constructability, sequencing, and installation requirements for MEP systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, markups, and specifications and translate them into accurate 3D models.
- Familiarity with coordination workflows between design, prefabrication, and field installation teams.
