Job Title: Controls Programmer
Job Description
We are hiring a Controls Design Engineer for the Production Engineering group. This team focuses on manufacturing automated equipment for North American manufacturing facilities. The role involves providing high-quality, reasonably priced, and on-time hardware, software, and safety design solutions to ensure the stable introduction of new models and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Work in an engineering team atmosphere to understand design requirements and create/modify automated production equipment.
- Provide electrical design to produce engineering hardware data necessary to assemble, build, and wire a control system for production equipment.
- Provide electrical design to produce engineering software data to accomplish control tasks for production equipment processes, including PLC, HMI, Motion Control, and Robotic programming.
- Provide on-site support to install, system up, and mature the control system for production equipment.
- Create and maintain a critical path schedule for work assignments to produce control system design deliverables and achieve overall project milestones for small to medium projects with low to medium complexity.
- Conduct and attend design reviews to ensure design standards are achieved and specifications are met for work assignment deliverables.
- Continuously apply an engineering mindset to learn new skills, processes, and technologies to expand knowledge in relevant manufacturing technologies.

- 5 years of experience
- PLC knowledge (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron)
- PLC programming from scratch and troubleshooting
- Experience designing electrical schematics

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to travel to other plants in Georgia, Indiana, Alabama, Canada, and Mexico (20% travel)
- Overtime work (average 10 hours per week)
- Occasional weekend work
Work Environment
The work environment includes automated equipment manufacturing. The role requires 20% travel and occasional weekend work. Long-term consultant-to-hire opportunities are available.
