Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Shift: 2nd (2pm-10pm) OR 3rd (10:45pm-7am)

Job Description
This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial facility. You will respond to machine breakdowns, perform reactive repairs beyond routine preventive maintenance, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to supporting continuous production operations on 2nd or 3rd shift.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase, using appropriate tools and safe work practices.
- Track and monitor mechanical performance to detect trends and prevent unexpected equipment failures.
- Respond to and resolve reactive machine breakdowns during assigned shifts to minimize downtime.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive maintenance (PM) tasks to improve equipment reliability.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide maintenance and repair work.
- Work from written work orders and verbal instructions to complete maintenance assignments accurately and on time.
- Use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools to test motors, circuits, and electrical components.
- Perform motor replacement and testing to ensure proper operation and alignment.
- Support maintenance supervision and leadership activities as needed, contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize tasks and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain basic documentation of maintenance activities using computer-based systems.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience or a maintenance-related degree.
- Proven experience as an industrial maintenance technician, not at entry level.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repairs.
- Experience performing reactive repairs on machine breakdowns, beyond routine preventive maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Working knowledge of industrial conveyor belt systems.
- Proficiency using a multimeter for electrical testing and diagnostics.
- Experience with motor replacement, testing, and basic alignment checks.
- Basic computer skills for documenting work and accessing technical information.
- Ability to work effectively from both written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (2:00 pm–10:00 pm) or 3rd shift (10:45 pm–7:00 am).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience is preferred.
- Experience with variable frequency drive (VFD) troubleshooting and repair.
- Welding and basic machining experience.
- Prior leadership or maintenance supervision experience.
- Comfort working in an older industrial facility environment.
- Interest in mentoring and supporting less experienced maintenance technicians.

Work Environment
The role is based in an older industrial facility with active production equipment and industrial conveyor systems. You will work primarily on 3rd shift from 10:45 pm to 7:00 am, Sunday night through Friday morning, with additional 2nd shift opportunities from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The environment includes exposure to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, requiring adherence to safety procedures and appropriate industrial work attire. You will use tools such as multimeters, welding equipment, and basic machining tools, and you will access technical documentation and maintenance records via computer-based systems.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
