Job Description
This role focuses on developing, modifying, and maintaining industrial electrical drawings for a manufacturing control system project. The Electrical Designer will translate technical documentation into accurate electrical schematics, keeps drawing sets current and well organized, and supports electrical and controls engineering teams by delivering high‑quality AutoCAD Electrical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and maintain industrial electrical drawings for manufacturing control system projects using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Translate technical documentation, design notes, and engineering inputs into accurate and clearly structured electrical schematics.
- Create detailed electrical schematics and panel layout drawings that align with project standards and engineering requirements.
- Maintain complete and organized drawing sets, ensuring that all revisions and updates are accurately captured and documented.
- Review and interpret electrical schematics and control system documentation to ensure drawings reflect the intended design and functionality.
- Support electrical and controls engineering teams by providing timely drafting updates and incorporating feedback into drawing revisions.
- Manage multiple drawing updates simultaneously while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and adherence to project deadlines.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, proactively identifying and resolving drafting issues within assigned projects.
- Apply strong CAD drafting practices, including effective use of navigation, shortcuts, layers, and project organization tools within AutoCAD Electrical.
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of working experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, including strong foundational CAD drafting skills.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and control system documentation.
- Hands-on experience creating electrical schematics and panel layouts.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing multiple drawing updates.
- Effective organization skills for managing project files and drawing sets within CAD environments.
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting electrical and controls engineering teams with drafting deliverables.
- Familiarity with industrial manufacturing control systems and related documentation.
This is a Contract position based out of Eastlake, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
