Job Description
The Maintenance Technician supports by installing, maintaining, and repairing blow mold, trimming, palletizing, and related production equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to keep machines in optimal processing condition and ensure reliable, safe production.
Responsibilities
- Install, adjust, and repair blow mold machines, trimmers, palletizers, and other related production equipment.
- Perform mold changes, neck tooling changes, pin changes, and other equipment changeovers as required.
- Inspect pneumatic and hydraulic systems, identify worn or damaged components, and replace or rebuild valves, pumps, and related parts.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all related equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Maintain machines in optimal processing condition by monitoring performance, making adjustments, and completing necessary repairs.
- Weld, fabricate, and repair various machine components and structures to support equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot and locate root causes of issues on blow mold machines, baggers, and support equipment, and complete effective repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and schematic diagrams to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
- Use electrical meters and other diagnostic tools to test circuits, components, and systems safely and accurately.
- Operate blow mold or injection machines as needed to support production and verify equipment performance after maintenance work.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and site procedures while performing all maintenance tasks.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and findings to support continuous improvement and future troubleshooting.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical systems in an industrial or production environment.
- Proficiency with hydraulics, including inspection, repair, and replacement of hydraulic components.
- Proficiency with pneumatics, including inspection, repair, and replacement of pneumatic components.
- Ability to perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting on production equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
- Ability to safely use and read an electrical meter for testing and diagnostics.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial machinery.
- Ability to weld and perform basic fabrication and repair work on machines.
- Experience working with blow mold equipment or similar production machinery.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gahanna, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.50 - $35.00/hr.
