Job Description
The Installer will assemble, install, and repair a variety of trucking tarp systems on flatbeds, dump trailers, and other trailer types. This role involves working with well-known trailer brands, wiring electronic tarp systems, and using a range of hand, power, and pneumatic tools. The position is hands-on, physically active, and ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined and enjoys working in a production and manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair a wide range of trucking tarp systems on flatbeds, dump trailers, and other trailer types.
- Work on trailers from multiple major manufacturers, ensuring proper fit and function of tarp systems.
- Wire electronic tarp systems on the underside of trailers, following appropriate safety and quality standards.
- Use various hand, power, and pneumatic tools to complete installations and repairs efficiently and accurately.
- Read and interpret measurements to ensure precise cutting, fitting, and assembly of components.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the team lead or appropriate contact.
- Assist with general labor, assembly, and production tasks as needed in a manufacturing environment.
- Contribute to construction-style and fabrication tasks, including basic mechanical and assembly work.
- Collaborate with a partner or small team, supporting hands-on training and knowledge sharing.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area by following all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Lift, move, and position materials and components, including items weighing up to 50 pounds, as part of daily tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively with tools and equipment.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time throughout the shift.
- Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Experience working in labor, assembly, manufacturing, production, construction, or similar hands-on environments.
- Ability to read and work with measurements accurately.
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively when partnered with another employee.
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions.
- Ability to work effectively in a loud, non-climate-controlled facility.
- Blueprint reading experience is a plus.
- Some welding experience is a plus.
- Previous experience with wiring or basic electrical work is beneficial.
- Background in manufacturing or trailer-related work is an advantage.
- Willingness to learn from experienced employees and participate in hands-on training.

Work Environment
The role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility, which can be hot in the summer and is typically relatively loud. The environment is active and physically demanding, involving standing, walking, lifting, and frequent use of hand, power, and pneumatic tools around trailers and tarp systems. The shop culture is team-oriented with low turnover, and many employees have built long careers in the facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
