Job Title: Warehouse Packer
Job Description
This role involves performing a variety of physical tasks in a manufacturing environment, including folding and assembling vegetable boxes with a partner, stacking completed boxes, and supporting production operations. You will help maintain a clean and safe plant, assist with basic housekeeping tasks around machinery, and contribute to a collaborative team by cross-training and filling in for other operators during absences and breaks.
Responsibilities
- Fold and assemble vegetable boxes with a partner in a consistent and efficient manner.
- Stack completed boxes safely and neatly, repeating the process throughout the shift.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, twisting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for the duration of the shift.
- Support production operations by assisting with general labor tasks as needed.
- Perform housekeeping functions to keep machinery and surrounding areas clean, reduce hazards, and maintain the overall appearance of the plant.
- Help ensure machinery areas remain clear of debris and obstructions to support safe and efficient operation.
- Contribute to a team environment by cross-training on different tasks to provide coverage across roles.
- Fill in for other operators during absences and breaks to help maintain continuous production.
- Follow all plant safety procedures and remain aware of large machinery and forklift traffic at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report issues, hazards, or equipment concerns.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for the entire shift.
- Ability and willingness to work in a loud, noisy, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience in manufacturing, production, or general labor roles.
- Ability to work safely around large machinery and in a warehouse environment with forklift traffic.
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and commitment to following them consistently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support cross-training efforts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a machine operator.
- Prior forklift certification or experience working around forklifts.
- Experience in construction or similar physically intensive work environments.
- Willingness to cross-train in different production tasks to support team flexibility.
- Strong reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality.
This is a Contract position based out of MOGADORE, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
