Job Title: Traveling Concrete Superintendent
Job Description
This Traveling Superintendent role oversees the planning and execution of complex construction projects, with a focus on self-performed concrete work across a variety of commercial and industrial project types. You will collaborate closely with the operational team to develop comprehensive project plans, lead field teams through defined planning processes, and ensure that project execution goals are consistently met for your assigned phase of work. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects such as data centers, hospitals, educational facilities, industrial buildings, and parking garages, while traveling to different sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Plan the execution phase of assigned construction projects, with a strong emphasis on self-performed concrete work.
- Collaborate with the operational team to create an overall project plan and integrate your phase of work into the broader project schedule.
- Develop detailed project plans for your specific phase of work, including sequencing, resource allocation, and coordination with other trades.
- Prepare your field team to execute the work by following defined planning processes, procedures, and safety standards.
- Lead day-to-day on-site supervision of concrete and related construction activities to ensure quality, safety, and productivity.
- Monitor progress against project execution goals for your portion of work and take corrective action when necessary to stay on schedule and within scope.
- Review and interpret project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate execution in the field.
- Identify obstacles and risks for your phase of work and proactively develop solutions to minimize delays and rework.
- Recognize opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and constructability within your portion of the project.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and alignment on project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, project requirements, and applicable codes and regulations for all work performed under your supervision.
- Travel to various project sites as required to oversee and support project execution.
Essential Skills
- At least 4 years of experience working with a self-performing general contractor or concrete contractor.
- Proven experience with self-performed concrete construction, including planning and field execution.
- Hands-on experience in concrete and concrete construction for commercial or industrial projects.
- Experience managing or supervising commercial construction projects, industrial projects, or both.
- Ability to develop and implement project plans for specific phases of work within a larger construction project.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to identify obstacles and opportunities within a project phase and respond effectively.
- Capability to lead and prepare field teams using defined planning processes and procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet project execution goals.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to various project locations.

Work Environment
This role is field-based and involves frequent travel to active construction sites across a variety of regions. You will work primarily on large-scale commercial and industrial projects, including data centers, hospitals, educational facilities, industrial buildings, and parking garages, with a strong focus on self-performed concrete work. The position operates in a dynamic construction environment that may include outdoor work, exposure to varying weather conditions, and coordination with multiple trades and teams. The organization offers support for relocation, per diem, lodging, and all work-related travel, making it well-suited for professionals who enjoy working on diverse projects in different locations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Plain City, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
Full medical, dental, and vision insurance. Willing to pay relocation, get truck allowance, phone allowance. Pay for all travel and lodging.
