Job Description
The Structural Engineer is responsible for designing foundations and structural steel systems supporting glass furnaces, batch plants, and related equipment, while providing technical guidance on steel design and modifications. This role leads design efforts, performs structural analysis and calculations, develops project scopes and estimates, and oversees a team of designers to ensure accuracy and constructability.
Responsibilities Include
- Design foundations and structural steel systems for glass furnaces, batch plants, and related equipment.
- Provide technical guidance on steel design and modifications.
- Lead design efforts and perform structural analysis and calculations.
- Develop project scopes and estimates.
- Oversee a team of designers to ensure accuracy and constructability of projects.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 7+ years of experience designing structural steel systems
- PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 4 years
- Proficient in AutoCAD (5+ years); Inventor and other structural design tools a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in both English and metric units
- Experience with glass furnace, batch, or cullet systems highly preferred
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toledo, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $62.50/hr.
