Job Description
This role focuses on performing advanced automotive diagnostics, repairs, and component replacements while working independently or as part of a collaborative team. You will handle complex mechanical issues, support parts identification and procurement, and ensure vehicles are serviced safely and efficiently in a structured first-shift environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics on a wide range of vehicles to accurately identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Complete clutch and transmission replacements and other complex mechanical repairs in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
- Identify required parts for repairs and collaborate closely with parts and procurement teams to secure necessary components, supplies, and materials.
- Alert team leads and leadership to difficult issues, recurring patterns, and emerging trends that may impact vehicle performance or service processes.
- Upfit new vehicles with required equipment and accessories when needed, following specifications and quality standards.
- Perform OEM recall work as required, ensuring all recall procedures are completed correctly and documented appropriately.
- Drive standard, automatic, and electric vehicles safely for testing, diagnostics, and post-repair verification.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety in all aspects of work, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective gear.
- Follow all shop policies, repair guidelines, and quality assurance standards to deliver reliable and consistent service.
- Support a clean, organized, and efficient work area to promote productivity and safety.
- Communicate clearly with team members and leadership about repair status, parts needs, and any obstacles affecting workflow.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of automotive service and repair experience, including hands-on work with diagnostics and complex mechanical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to systematically identify and resolve mechanical and brake-related issues.
- Proficiency in automotive mechanical repair, including clutches, transmissions, and braking systems.
- Ability to drive standard, automatic, and electric vehicles safely and confidently.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Current ASE Certifications A1–A9, and L1 in emission states when required by leadership.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as effectively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to following established repair procedures and safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience performing OEM recall work in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Experience in heavy duty work and familiarity with servicing larger or more complex vehicles.
- Ability to collaborate with parts and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of required components.
- Strong communication skills to report issues, patterns, and trends to leadership.
- Capability to upfit vehicles with specialized equipment and accessories according to specifications.

Work Environment
This position is based in an automotive service facility focused on heavy duty and general vehicle repair. You will work first shift, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in a shop setting that uses standard mechanical tools, diagnostic equipment, and lifting devices. The environment involves hands-on work with vehicles, including standard, automatic, and electric models, and requires adherence to safety practices and appropriate work attire suitable for a repair shop setting
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of West Chester, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
