Job Title: Certified Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Certified Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team and be instrumental in the start-up of a new pharmacy in Ohio. This role involves mixing IV and other pharmaceutical preparations, adhering to sterile compounding techniques, and ensuring compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797 standards.
Responsibilities
- Mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques.
- Adhere to all documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation.
- Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities required by applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797 standards.
- Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for patient profiles when available.
- Clean the ante-room and cleanroom areas following USP-797 standards.
- Maintain cleanroom logs.
- Verify lot numbers and periodically check inventory accuracy.
- Provide availability for assisting with on-call responsibilities as needed.
- Successfully complete a competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Uphold confidentiality concerning proprietary company information and patient/client care, complying with federal and state confidentiality laws regarding protected health information (PHI) and electronic PHI, as well as adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Essential Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
- Experience in a clinical or compounding setting.
- Knowledge of pharmacy and compounding techniques.
- Proficiency in inventory management and filling prescriptions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with sterile compounding techniques and USP-797 guidelines.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Work Environment
You will be working in a brand new pharmacy as part of a small team, helping to start an entire pharmacy. The work schedule is flexible, Monday through Friday, with hours between 8 am and 5 pm. The environment is collaborative and offers the opportunity to grow with a new business.
