Job Title: Night Shift Welder/Fitter
Job Description
This role focuses on structural welding and fitting of large-scale poles used for street lighting and traffic control. You will work with very large structural components in a heavy manufacturing environment and perform high-quality welds and fittings to precise specifications, following blueprints and meeting strict quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding and fitting on large poles and heavy structural components used for street lighting and traffic control.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine layout, measurements, and welding requirements for each project.
- Set up and operate welding equipment using metalcore and flux core processes in accordance with job specifications.
- Pass and maintain proficiency in the weld test on a 1/2 inch flat plate 1G with 1/16th metalcore wire and bevel bar.
- Perform accurate fitting work and pass a fitting test to ensure correct alignment and assembly of large structures.
- Work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment, consistently wearing required personal protective equipment including hard hat, weld hood, and steel-toe footwear.
- Handle and position very large structural materials using appropriate tools and equipment, maintaining control and safety at all times.
- Inspect welds and fittings for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Work night shift hours and support overtime needs, including frequent Friday overtime and occasional Saturday work, to meet production demands.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of heavy industrial welding and fitting experience in a structural or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience working with very large structural materials and components.
- Proficiency with metalcore and flux core welding processes.
- Ability to perform structural welder/fitter duties in a heavy manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Ability to pass a fitting test demonstrating strong layout and fit-up skills.
- Ability to pass a weld test on a 1/2 inch flat plate 1G using 1/16th metalcore wire with bevel bar.
- Consistent work history with above-average tenure in previous roles.
- Ability to work night shift hours (approximately 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.) and support overtime as required.

Work Environment
This position is based in a heavy manufacturing facility focused on producing very large structural poles. The primary schedule for night shift welder/fitters is approximately 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with overtime on most Fridays and some Saturdays. You will work with metalcore and flux core welding processes on large structural materials in an industrial setting. A hard hat is mandatory and provided, while you must supply your own weld hood and steel-toe footwear. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to industrial work practices typical of heavy manufacturing operations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.50 - $28.25/hr.
