Job Title: Electrical Estimator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates by interpreting blueprints and other documents. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate quantity takeoffs and developing unit cost pricing, while collaborating with engineers to understand project scopes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by interpreting blueprints and other documents.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.
- Obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc., to utilize in estimates.
- Input estimate takeoff information for specific disciplines and develop unit cost pricing.
- Work with engineers to develop a clear understanding of project scope during preparation of estimates.
- Develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.
- Assist senior staff in ways to make projects more efficient and seek ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of tasks.
- Maintain project documents such as drawings and specifications in an organized manner.
- Maintain and update the data library of costs.
- Prepare cost reconciliation between two or more estimates and explain variance cost drivers.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience as an estimator in Manufacturing and/or Mechanical/Electrical/Process Piping contracting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Seven years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of electronic takeoff including CAD Measure.
- Working knowledge of a commercially available construction cost estimating system.
- Understanding and utilization of Information Technology in the performance of work, including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Professional designation such as RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, RA, or any appraisal licensure is preferred.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $67.00/hr.
