Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic engineering team where you will lead project teams, manage disciplines, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. You will be responsible for preparing deliverable documents including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications. Attend client meetings, lead coordination efforts, and develop client relationships. Utilize engineering judgment and techniques to complete projects from concepts through construction. Participate in calculations and equipment selection while applying building codes and electrical industry standards.


Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams and manage disciplines to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of projects.
  • Prepare deliverable documents such as narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Attend client meetings and coordinate efforts between external and internal project teams.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures.
  • Participate in calculations and equipment selection using advanced understanding of building codes and standards.
  • Perform site visits and issue reports.
  • Develop project workplans, tasks, and assignments for the team.
  • Update master specifications and standards, improving company processes.
  • Apply engineering principles to distribution Load Flow, Short Circuit, and Arc Flash Energy analysis using Easy Power.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams, Engineers, Project Managers, and stakeholders to address specific objectives.
  • Facilitate seamless coordination among various design disciplines.
  • Conduct field verifications and site assessments to troubleshoot design issues during construction.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Electrical design and engineering expertise.
  • Knowledge of schematic and lighting design.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Relevant professional credentials (EIT or PE).
  • Electrical work experience specific to the AEC/Built environment industry.
  • Proficiency in electrical system distribution, lighting, and power system design.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts.
  • Strong delegation skills and team assembly capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Effective communication of design options.
