Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. The CMA will play a vital role in ensuring efficient clinic operations while providing exceptional care to patients under the supervision of healthcare providers. The Medical Assistant (MA) assists the practice manager and physicians in maintaining a patient/customer focus, supports the delivery of high-quality care, shares a passion for patient and customer-centered care, and assists in meeting or exceeding patient satisfaction and financial/operational targets. The MA provides patient care through performance of patient preparation, interviewing, technical tasks, and patient/family communication.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic tests.
• Record vital signs, medical histories, and document patient information in electronic health records (EHR).
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor medical procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed, adhering to state regulations.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, including specimen collection and preparation.
• Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling patient inquiries.
• Educate patients about prescribed treatments, medications, and healthcare instructions.
• Maintain and inventory medical supplies, ensuring cleanliness and organization of exam rooms.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient care.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical assisting or a related field.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Attributes such as accountability, energetic, personable, compassionate, emotionally intelligent, and self-aware.

Work Environment

Work hours will range between 6:45am and 6pm with Tuesday having extended hours until 8pm. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift equipment as needed.
