Senior Engineer, Process Optimization
POSITION PROFILE
Key responsibilities for this position include data capture, planning, directing, and process engineering activities related to continuous improvement for Ricoh Americas with an overall objective of delivering automation and excellence in Supply Chain processes. This includes but is not limited to order flow, cost reductions, improved safety and inventory practices at the lowest total system cost while meeting key cycle time, financial, quality, on time and complete customer metrics. The position will develop and implement process engineered workflows to deliver quantifiable benefits in the organization by analysis of key performance metrics and value stream mapping of mission critical processes. Serves as a technical and industrial engineer resource for the North American equipment operations network leveraging the usage of system tools such as Python and Power BI that may be leveraged up and down the Supply Chain Network. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver transformational and quantifiable improvements and financial benefits across the Supply Chain by planning and executing various process engineered projects in the Ricoh Americas Distribution Center and Regional Fulfillment Center network.
- Complete projects specifically engineered to improve operational excellence, safety, inventory management, cost management and customer experience workflow processes and productivity. Responsible for developing benchmarking for deployed projects across all Supply Chain teams and centers.
- Develops fact-based reporting and tools via data driven assessments of Supply Chain functional areas to embed continuous improvement culture.
- Support Supply Chain objectives by leading and/or developing projects that leverage Lean/Six Sigma tools to address opportunities identified through process engineering or other planning techniques.
- Identify, develop, and implement appropriate standards and methodologies for the Supply Chain Network.
- Provide leadership for customer value chain continuous improvement methodologies and serve as the change agent towards a metrics based, valued engineered continuous improvement culture.
- Monitor, support, and provide reports on the status of continuous improvement projects. Ensure progress is being made toward objectives and that regular project reviews are being conducted, meeting stated objectives.
- Collaborate with all aspects of Supply Chain management and cross functionally where applicable identifying and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
- Support technical requirements for continuous improvement projects within field operations in conjunction with Process Improvement, Information Technology, and 3rd party partners.
- Vendor research and evaluations as required.
- 4-year degree in industrial engineering
- 2-4 years of operational and hands-on project experience and/or combination of education and experience
- Project management experience or equivalent education.
- Demonstrated experience applying Lean, 5S, VSM, standard work, root cause analysis, visual management).
- CAD design experience desired.
- Proficiency in Power BI, Python, Autocad, and Advanced Excel and/or related applications
- Strong process and engineering problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills. Must be able to work across a large organization and be inclusive of input from key stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills including written, verbal and presentation skills. Must be comfortable presenting / meeting with senior executives.
- Proven analytical abilities. Source, create, recommend fact-based process optimized solutions with integration of market data, spend analytics and cost modeling.
- Flexible, proactive, and dynamic individual who can effectively manage workload and lead Supply Chain initiatives aligning within company objectives.
- Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level
- Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend, and apply complex material, data and instruction - prepare, provide and convey diversified information.
- From time to time, work will require observation and monitoring processes in the operations to provide real time data and process engineered solutions.
- Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files, and laptop, etc.)
- Moderate dexterity - regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination)
