Job Title: Material Handler in Wrightsville, PA
2nd and 3rd shift opportunities with training done on first shift

Job Description
This role focuses on safely handling, moving, and organizing metal materials within a modern, expanded facility. Material Handlers support production by operating forklifts and overhead cranes, selecting and staging orders, and preparing materials for shipment on 2nd or 3rd shift. New hires complete structured classroom and hands-on training to build strong safety, equipment, and procedural knowledge before transitioning into full production responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Complete 2–3 weeks of classroom-based training focused on safety, core values, and basic certifications, followed by 3–4 weeks of hands-on training on forklifts, overhead cranes, and procedural duties.
- Work in either the sheet metal bay or the bar bay, depending on operational needs, and adapt to changing priorities across different areas of the facility.
- Perform order selection using high-reach or side loader forklifts and sit-down forklifts to pick, sort, and stage metal materials accurately and efficiently.
- Operate an overhead crane when needed to move, lift, and position heavy materials safely and in accordance with training and safety procedures.
- Load and unload trucks by maneuvering materials using forklifts and cranes, ensuring loads are secure, properly banded, and prepared for transport.
- Band various types of metal materials securely to maintain product integrity and safety during storage and shipment.
- Handle material manually as required, including lifting up to 55 pounds independently and using team lifts or forklifts for heavier items.
- Support general material handling tasks such as moving, organizing, and replenishing stock within the bays and throughout the facility.
- Assist with metal working tasks such as saw operation, deburring, grinding, and metal grinding as needed to support production and finishing operations.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, consistently prioritize safe operation of equipment, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Demonstrate accountability by arriving on time, maintaining strong attendance, and meeting productivity and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with coworkers and demonstrate a willingness to help others to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of orders.
- Participate in ongoing training and recertification on forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment, and apply new skills to daily tasks.
- Work required overtime beyond scheduled shift end times, especially on 2nd and 3rd shifts, to meet production and shipping demands.
Essential Skills
- Experience operating a sit-down forklift in a production, warehouse, or material handling environment.
- Ability to learn and operate high-reach or side loader forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Ability to learn and operate an overhead crane for lifting and moving metal materials.
- Material handling experience, including order pulling, order selection, and staging materials for shipment or production.
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds independently and perform frequent physical tasks such as moving, banding, and positioning materials.
- Strong focus on safety, including adherence to safety procedures, use of equipment as trained, and awareness of surroundings.
- Proven accountability and reliable attendance, with a track record of showing up consistently and on time.
- Willingness to work 2nd shift (approximately 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday–Friday) or 3rd shift (approximately 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday–Thursday), including regular overtime.
- Eagerness to learn new skills, accept training and recertification, and adapt to different tasks and equipment.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and instructions for order selection, banding, loading, and equipment operation.

- Experience operating a stand-up or side loader forklift.
- Experience operating an overhead crane in a metal or industrial environment.
- Experience in metal working, including saw operation, deburring, grinding, and metal grinding.
- Prior experience in a sheet metal bay, bar bay, or similar metal distribution or fabrication environment.
- Demonstrated willingness to help teammates and contribute to a collaborative, supportive work culture.

Material Handlers work primarily in the sheet metal bay or bar bay, using sit-down forklifts, high-reach or side loader forklifts, overhead cranes, and metal-working equipment such as saws and grinders. The role is based on 2nd shift (around 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday–Friday) or 3rd shift (around 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday–Thursday), with regular overtime expected beyond the scheduled end of each shift. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with a strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and efficient material flow, and employees can expect to wear appropriate industrial attire suitable for working around metal, machinery, and material handling equipment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
