Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Description

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing and analyzing inventory-related transactions, conducting regular cycle counts, and ensuring accurate valuation of inventory across the plant. The ideal candidate will play a key role in recording journal entries related to cost accounting activities and will support financial accuracy through in-depth analysis of various operational and financial aspects of the manufacturing process. This position requires strong collaboration with plant operations and finance teams to ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in inventory and cost control processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and analyze inventory-related transactions.
• Conduct regular cycle counts.
• Ensure accurate valuation of inventory across the plant.
• Record journal entries related to cost accounting activities.
• Support financial accuracy through in-depth analysis of operational and financial aspects.
• Collaborate with plant operations and finance teams for cost efficiency and compliance.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in managing inventory.
• Experience in recording journal entries.
• Ability to perform cost analysis (inventory, labor, overhead, absorption cost).
• Proficient within a large-scale ERP such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, SAGE, Infor, or Workday.
• Ability to create pivot tables and Vlookups in Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with cycle counts.
• 2+ years of experience working within and tracking inventory.
• 2+ years of experience in cost analysis (labor, overhead, absorption costs).

Work Environment

The role requires working onsite with hours from either 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. It involves spending considerable time in the plant environment.
