Job Description
This night-shift yard labor role focuses on supporting concrete panel production by working in the plant and outdoor yard to pour, strip, clean, and move large concrete panels. You will perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment, working with a team to ensure panels are safely prepared, finished, and staged for shipment.
Hours & Pay Rate
- Day Shift Yard - 6am start time - $20/hr
- Third Shift Yard - 6pm start time - $21.50/hr
Responsibilities
- Work in the plant to pour, cast, and finish concrete panels according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Strip concrete panels from their forms once the concrete has properly cured.
- Clean concrete forms thoroughly after panels are stripped and moved out to the yard to ensure they are ready for the next pour.
- Assist with moving and staging completed concrete panels in the yard for storage and shipment.
- Operate basic production and yard equipment as needed, such as forklifts or other material handling equipment, once properly trained and authorized.
- Perform general labor tasks including lifting, carrying, bending, and climbing throughout the shift.
- Follow all safety guidelines and use proper lifting techniques to handle heavy materials safely.
- Work effectively as part of a team of approximately 20 people in departments such as Wide-Bed and Rolling Bed to meet production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in both the plant and yard.
- Adapt to changing priorities and tasks based on production needs and yard conditions during the night shift.
Essential Skills
- Prior experience in concrete work, manual labor, or landscaping.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 75+ lbs as needed.
- Ability to repeatedly lift, bend, and climb throughout a 10–12 hour shift.
- Willingness to work night shifts and be open to working weekends as required.
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions and in a physically challenging environment.
- Basic familiarity with production or general labor environments.
- Ability to work safely as part of a team and follow instructions accurately.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior yard jockey experience is preferred.
- Prior concrete pouring experience is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus.
- Experience in general labor, production, or outdoor work such as landscaping is beneficial.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to work 50–60 hours per week when needed.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mahanoy City, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
