Job Title: Entry-Level MIG Welder / Fabricator
Job Description
This entry-level MIG Welder/Fabricator role offers the opportunity to develop welding and fabrication skills in a fast-paced, open-air manufacturing job shop. You will help build snow plows and related accessories using a variety of fabrication and production equipment while working closely with a supportive production team.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on snow plows, hitches, blades, cutting edges, and related steel components.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble steel parts prior to welding to ensure accurate alignment and fit-up.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints, work instructions, and shop drawings to complete jobs correctly.
- Operate grinders, hand tools, and measuring equipment safely and effectively during fabrication and finishing.
- Assist with the production of snow plow accessories, including wing shoes, moldboard shoes, nose shoes, and plow shoes.
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the production area using appropriate tools and methods.
- Inspect welds and finished products to verify they meet quality and dimensional standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop safety procedures.
- Support other departments and production processes as needed based on workload and production demands.
- Follow all safety procedures, use required personal protective equipment, and report any hazards or concerns.
- Work scheduled shifts consistently and be willing to work overtime, including Saturdays, when required.
- Develop the ability to work independently on assigned tasks once adequately trained and familiar with processes.
Essential Skills
- Basic MIG welding experience with steel materials in a fabrication or similar environment.
- Basic fabrication experience, including fitting and assembling steel components prior to welding.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to within 1/16 of an inch.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings at a basic level.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality welds and finished products.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
- Comfort working in a physical role that requires standing, bending, kneeling, and repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays once fully trained.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Kingstown, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
