⏰ Shift: 1st Shift – 4:00 AM Start Time (8–10 Hour Shifts, Some Weekends Required)
💲 Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Panel Builder / NPI Technician to join our team in Reading, PA. This position will focus on building, assembling, wiring, testing, and documenting industrial control panels and low-voltage power distribution systems, including prototype and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on manufacturing experience, strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production and engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble industrial control panels and low-voltage power distribution panels, including prototype units.
- Construct and document prototype builds using preliminary engineering documentation.
- Create and maintain detailed wire lists, selecting appropriate terminals, tooling, and components.
- Assist Engineering teams with panel design improvements, layouts, and new product configurations.
- Troubleshoot prototype issues involving wiring, panel layout, harness routing, and assembly processes.
- Develop practical solutions to improve manufacturability, performance, and product quality.
- Provide monthly quality reports related to NPI builds and identified production concerns.
- Support maintenance, calibration, and inventory control of tools and equipment, including torque tools.
- Perform inspection, verification, and testing to ensure panels meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Assist Engineering with documenting design updates and changes within ERP systems.
- Follow daily 6S practices to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Communicate effectively with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams regarding project status and improvements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support production and NPI activities.
Required Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing experience in production, assembly, or related environments.
- Electrical helper experience or strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly skills.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools for electrical and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Experience with electrical wiring, panel wiring, and electrical assembly work.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for basic electrical and mechanical issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and engineering documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building industrial control panels and control systems.
- Familiarity with HVAC electrical or mechanical systems.
- Experience reading plumbing diagrams and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and engineering change documentation.
- Experience with SyteLine and SOLIDWORKS PDM.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Comfortable working with touchscreen interfaces and digital documentation systems.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Reading, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
